What is Agriculture Monitoring?
Agriculture monitoring involves the use of IoT sensors and devices to collect data on environmental conditions, moisture, equipment usage and many other data points. This data enables farmers to maximize yields, conserve resources, reduce waste, enhance productivity and potentially increase security.
Long range low powered sensors can be deployed on farming equipment, in soil, or on other items of interest, to track parameters such as moisture levels, temperature, humidity levels, operational status and equipment run hours. Sensor data is collected via a gateway that transmits this information in near real-time, to provide actionable insights.
Control devices.
Utilising sensor data and data from other sources it is possible to operate remote devices, via manual or automatic operation.
Close or open valves, utilising level feedback.
Turn on or off heating/cooling systems based on temperature.
Operate security lighting when a yard gate is opened.
Near real time notifications via SMS and email.
